Employment Sector Council London-Middlesex

Committees

ESCLM could not accomplish all that it does without the dedicated commitment of the Members and volunteers on our Committees. From guiding the day-to-day operations to setting a vision of an inclusive community, our volunteers regularly meet to ensure ESCLM members continue to work collaboratively to offer a client-centred ‘No Wrong Door' system.

For more information about our Committees or how to get involved more closely with our work, please contact ESCLM Project Manager Carol Stewart, who acts as Committee Administrator.

Steering Committee

The ESCLM Steering Committee, elected by its membership, is responsible for collaboratively engaging community members involved in the employment and training sector in London and Middlesex County.  The Membership of the Steering Committee is comprised of directors and managers from our non-profit member agencies, and ex officio members representing our funders from all three levels of government. The Committee's activities are focused on strategically building organizational and sector capacity through effective communication and information sharing, community development and sectoral planning, for the purpose of providing relevant and responsive programs and services that meet the needs of job seekers in our community.  It is through this collaborative and integrated approach that that we are able to build the social and economic capacity of the communities that we serve.

Community Employment Links (CEL) Committee

This sub-Committee has the responsibility for supporting our membership in how we, as a community, collect, retain, store, and share client information as well as how we communicate with each other for the purposes of client referral. The mission of the CEL Committee is:  “to facilitate the expedient movement of clients through the employment and training service delivery network, towards employment or re-employment, and to use technology as a tool to accomplish this goal.”

The CEL Committee designed the ESCLM information sharing protocols; developed the Links2Work website offering locally based on-line resources for job seekers and interagency communication; and created the Privacy Standards adhered to by our members.

Common Assessment Process (CAP) Committee

This sub-Committee coordinates and facilitates the design and delivery of the ESCLM’s Common Assessment Process Training program. The Committee also oversees the evaluation and certification of CAP trainers, ensuring excellence in training for every session.  CAP Committee members design and revise training curricula to ensure maximum relevance to our agency staff and clients also serve as trainers and mentors for all CAP practitioners across our community.

Professional Development Sub Committee

Due to increasing requests for professional development among ESCLM member agencies, a Professional Development sub-Committee was formed to oversee the selection and organization of professional development events for our membership. Its mandate is to enable the membership to serve the membership by capitalizing on the core competencies already existent within our member agencies’ staff. Hence, this subcommittee is composed of both frontline and management staff.
