The Common Assessment Process (CAP) was adopted in 1995 to establish a common approach to assessing and assisting clients wherever they enter the employment services system.
CAP is a consistent, information gathering and employment planning interview format for use between employment staff and clients, which is used and supported by the unique ESCLM network of more than 40 agencies in the London area. The CAP model ensures clients participate in one, agreed-upon, high quality employment planning process, no matter where they seek assistance within the community.
Community partners are trained in the referral process and the necessary steps towards developing a client-centered employment action plan with clear outcomes and time frames. To date, over 500 participants from 45 community agencies have benefited from CAP training.
