Community Partners

The ESCLM has been instrumental in bringing people together for communication, training and consultation.

To further our efforts regionally and provincially, we also actively engage with the London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), the Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford Local Training Board, Ontario Network of Employment Skills Training Projects (ONESTEP), the Ontario Alliance of Career Development Professionals (OACDP), Partners in Employment (PIE), and others to provide an integrated and coordinated approach to community and economic development opportunities.   For example, we assist the Local Board with community consultation events in order to develop local community employment and training plans.  These plans are provided to provincial and federal  partners to assist with their planning processes.  We have worked with the LEDC to develop a recruitment directory for employers, and are currently participating in their Team Youth project to identify employment opportunities for young people.   And, we partnered with OADCP to provide Blueprints training for front line assessment and counselling staff.

The ESCLM continues to invest in community partnerships. Recent such initiatives include the following:

Child & Youth Agenda (City of London)

Literacy in London & Middlesex: Action Plan 2008–2010 (United Way)

Creating Work Opportunities for Youth Strategic Plan (London Economic Development Corporation)

“The Hidden Talent Pool” Workshop (Elgin, Middlesex, Oxford Local Training Board, Community Futures Development Corporation of Middlesex County, Middlesex County Accessibility Advisory Committee)
