ESCLM Response to MTCU Program Changes

Please read this ESCLM letter to Hon. John Milloy, Minister, MTCU which outlines our concerns about the recent cuts and limits to Employment Ontario programs.

The ESCLM represents a community of employment interests who believe these changes are short-sighted, and especially damaging coming at such a critical time for our region, which is burdened with the second highest urban unemployment rate in the nation.

We ask that he consider our recommendation to halt cutting programs in the absence of a comprehensive, client-centred, community-collaborative plan for services and programs in our region, so that the significant number of job seekers requiring these, and the people who serve these individuals are able to plan for their most effective and appropriate return-to-work measures.
