WIL announces Bursary Program
To mark its 25th Anniversary, WIL has announced a new bursary program to assist individuals in achieving their employment and learning goals.
On August 30, 1984, WIL Employment Connections (WIL) became incorporated as an organization dedicated to serving immigrant women. Since that time, WIL's range of services and client group has expanded: First, by serving immigrant men, and then to providing assessment and educational upgrading for all unemployed. These changes were driven by WIL's clients. So on the occasion of the organization's 25th Anniversary, WIL would like to thank our clients for their contribution in our development; for keeping the organization accountable at every turn; and, finally, for generating most of the creative ideas that have kept WIL relevant and responsive to community needs.
To this end, the Board of Directors has approved a fund that will provide education/training bursaries, to a maximum of $2,500 each, for individuals who are pursuing their learning and employment goals in this community. Selection for one of these bursaries will be a competitive process. The Bursary Program criteria, application form and FAQ's are available on WIL's website at www.wil.ca
