The new Original Cakerie production facility near the corner of Hamilton Rd. and Veteran's Memorial in South East London has started operations. The HR Departmetn has career opportunities that may be of interest to your clients. They are looking for several permanent part-time production employees at the moment and would like to bring this opportunity to their attention if possible. It would be greatly appreciated if you can help the HR team connect with candidates.

Professional Development Events
The ESCLM PD Committee is pleased to invite you to attend two Professional Development sessions. Please share this info with your colleagues and staff.
The first session ‘Safety in the Workplace' will be facilitated by Constable Rob Black of the London Police Service. It will be held Tuesday February 23rd at noon in Classroom 8 at The Skill Centre and will run approximately one hour. This session is free, but is limited to 30 attendees. There are two dates for our second session, ‘Dealing with a Difficult or Angry Person', March 9th 9:30-12 at the Hutton House Learning Centre in Cherryhill Mall and March 11 2-4:30 and March 11th 2-4:30 Classroom 8 at The Skill Centre.
These two and a half hour in-depth sessions cost $20 to attend and will be facilitated by Ed Hager of the Education Safety Association of Ontario (ESAO). Participants in this in-depth interactive session will receive a copy of the ‘Dealing with Difficult or Angry Person' resource book. These sessions are also limited to 30 people. Training for Employment Staff
We have 3 different Common Assessment Process (CAP) training courses planned for the near future. Please let me know if you are interested in any of these or if you have any questions: carol@esclm.ca. Spaces are limited to the first 12 applicants for each.
1. Individual CAP (employment planning one-to-one with clients) is scheduled for March 25 & 26. Apply here...
2. Group CAP (employment planning in group settings) is scheduled for April 8 & 9. The emphasis is on group facilitation skills. Individual CAP training is a pre-requisite. Apply here...
3. Our Overview Workshop for Employment Resource Centre staff and other support staff (front-desk, etc.), "Understanding CAP and Community Employment Resources" is scheduled for March 18. This one day course recognizes the critical role that these staff play in our community's service delivery system, and equips them to meet these demands and to gain a comprehensive understanding of community agency resources and their employment planning processes.
