Annual Breakfast for YOU

Join us Thursday, February 4th, 2010 for the 4th Annual Breakfast for YOU: Empowering YOUth at Hilton London, Grand Ballroom from 7 am - 9 am.

Breakfast for YOU is our key fundraiser and a most heart-warming event at which attendees gain new insight into the challenges and successes of our youth. The event is a high point on the YOU calendar because of its engaging atmosphere and how closely it ties with YOU's Mission, Vision, Values.

Our theme this year is Here Comes the Neighbourhood! Preparing a Community to Hope, Connect and Care. This youth-focused presentation will explore how meaningful involvement of young people in decision making at many levels is essential to building strong communities. This is truly a message all can embrace.

Learn more about how you can help...

We have brought in a renowned facilitator, Marc Langlois, who has worked in many communities across Canada. Marc has developed a presentation that will include roles for some eight youth from YOU as co-facilitators. For complete details, and to register, please see www.you.on.ca/breakfast.

Revenue raised from Breakfast goes to much-needed programs and services for local youth.

Student-2-Business Conference 2010

Friends & Colleagues (apologies if you get this twice);

I am writing with a last request to you in my role as Director Workforce Development here at the LEDC (I leave LEDC at the end of this month and Phil Hunt takes over the role).

My request:

Please join us and help make the 3rd Annual Student-2-Business Networking Conference the biggest and best yet.

The S2B conference is being held Thursday January 28th from 4.15 pm-7.30 pm at the London Convention Centre and we hope to have over 600 students from Western & Fanshawe come together to learn about business and industry in London and to make connections with business and community representatives - like you - who are able to offer insight and valuable information on London's business community. We would like to have 300 business and community delegates to network with the students and you can see the business who have registered by clicking Business Participation at this link: http://www.s2b.ca/index.php/s2b/menu_link/business

For our business and community delegates we will start with a Business Mixer at 4.15 pm. In this session we will help you understand the valuable contribution you will make and how best to assist the students. We then join the students for the keynote presentation which is followed by the connecting session in the Student-2-Business Advantage Room.

Cost to attend is $40.00 and includes the keynote address, food and beverage, networking, and parking (if available). You are also able to attend the afternoon of student workshops starting at 2:00pm.

Please see the attached invitation for more details or visit the www.s2b.ca  website to register. If you have any questions, please call me on 519 6614526.

I would also appreciate if you could share this message with your colleagues and networks - anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.

Warm regards,
Jeny Wallace
Director, Workforce Development
