Local Monthly Employment Survey
In order to get more definitive and timely information on local employment trends, the Elgin Middlesex Oxford Local Training Board has established a new and very, very short, local monthly Employment Survey. This will provide valuable, insight on actual job gains/losses and the occupations which are being impacted.
This same survey is also being conducted across SW Ontario in partnership with other local planning boards.
A brief report on the local monthly results will be distributed electronically between surveys and will indicate the dates when the next survey will be open.
If you would to contribute to this process please contact us at info@localboard.on.ca or 519-672-3499 with your contact information including your email.
Check out our May Employer Survey Results...
Thanks, Martin Withenshaw, Projects Manager

Have You Seen Rita?
Rita DeBook is London's newest Literacy Advocate. Starting May 27th and every Thursday until July 29th, Rita will be "hanging out" somewhere in London.
People who spot Rita are asked to call the Rita DeBook hotline and give their name, phone number, Rita's location, and an explanation of how Rita's activity is related to literacy. A winner will be drawn from all those that call the hotline that day. The Fresh FM Summer Cruiser will find Rita each Thursday and announce the winner from that location.
What a great way to have some fun and promote literacy. Community literacy is important to address because 40% of Canadian adults don't have the necessary literacy skills to cope in our society.
