Training in Group Facilitation

Are you currently or interested in facilitating group sessions? Do you work in group settings to assist with job search, career exploration, or employment preparation? Do you want to learn and practice group facilitation and workshop leadership skills?

The ESCLM is offering training in a broad dimension of skills required for facilitating groups/workshops. This course will cover such topics as workshop planning (initial, transition, working and termination) and difficult group behaviours and explore strategies to overcome these problem situations. Participants will acquire practical facilitating skills required of group leaders, which can be applied in a diversity of situations.

We still have spaces available for this year's April 8 & 9 Group Employment Planning course.  If you or your staff currently or would like to provide employment or training services to clients in a group setting, register now...

Community Housing Strategy site

Check out the website for London's Community Housing Strategy, which seeks to provides direction about how the City can meet the range of housing needs for different populations and their unique needs. It examines everything from emergency shelters to home ownership - and everything in between.

The two cornerstones of the Strategy will be an updated Affordable Housing Strategy and an updated Community Plan on Homelessness.

As part of the process to develop the London Community Housing Strategy (LCHS), we are using a "snowball" survey. The survey should be completed by the most senior person in your organization who would be aware of your overall services, staffing levels, funding sources, etc. Also, I would like you to forward the survey link in this message to as many people in your network as possible. Although we only want one survey completed per organization, don't be concerned about people receiving several invitations to complete the survey. The "snowball" technique is just to make certain that we are reaching every organization that may be impacted by the LCHS.

Thank you and here is the survey link.

Employment Ontario Information System
Case Management System (CaMS) Orientation

This course is designed for MTCU and Employment Ontario service provider staff who will use the new EOIS CaMS to administer the Employment Service and ministry delivered programs such as Second Career. The CaMS Online Orientation explains how the system will support the service provider's daily case management of Employment Ontario clients. It will also provide insight into how MTCU staff will use the system to manage clients who are referred to ministry delivered programs.

OPEN Seminar tomorrow

There are just a few spaces still available in this week's seminar on looking for work in information technology, so if you know any newcomers who would benefit please do pass the information on. The focus will be heavily on information technology and matching technical as well as soft skills to employer needs.
